The human papillomavirus (HPV) is a highly contagious virus and the most common sexually transmitted infection in the world.
Anyone who is sexually active is at risk, regardless of their gender, and an estimated 75% of sexually active Canadians will have at least one HPV infection in their lifetime.
Most people eventually clear the infection, but for some, persistent HPV will go on to cause cancer or genital warts.
So, whether you yourself are a patient or your partner or loved one has been affected, each of us stands to be impacted by HPV.
CANADAvsHPV is on a mission to unite and empower Canadians to take preventative action against HPV.
